- Click the "A" drop-list.
- Select "Single Line".
- Click somewhere in the label design to insert the text box.
- Double-click the text box border to view its settings.
- Select the "Sample Text" under "Data Sources".
- Navigate to the "Data Source" tab and enter the default start number. This is temporary but helps define the number of characters, leading zeros (if any) and helps choose the correct size and location on the label design.
- Go to the "Data Type" tab. Set the "Type" to text.
- Now go to the "Transforms" tab. Under "Serialization", click the wizard button.
- Choose "Increment" to count up or "Decrement" to count down (useful if you're printing a whole roll where the highest number is the last on the roll.
- Under "Method" you can choose different options. The default is the most versatile.
- The serial number can change in steps greater than 1. You can also preserve the number of characters by ticking the relevant checkbox. This is useful so it will say 0001 instead of 1.
- You can preview the sequence before you finish by clicking on the "Preview Sequence" button.
- Click "Close" to return to the previous window.
- It is also possible to prompt for a start number at the time of print.
- Click "Close" then align your textbox.
- Click "File" then "Print". Enter the number of serialised labels you wish to be printed. You can also enter the number of copies although this is likely you only want 1 copy of each number.
